Selecting the Right Unit Size and Spring
The bearing class, the bearing shaft diameter, and the speed are all needed to determine the size of the LubeSite unit. An extra large unit will be required, for instance, if the shaft diameter is 2″ and the shaft speed is constant at 2000 rpm with a sealed bearing. View the Guide to Size Selection below.
The operating temperature and the grease weight are necessary to choose the appropriate spring. For instance, you will want a medium (silver) spring if the bearing operates within a 60°F to 80°F temperature range and you use grade 2 grease. Check out the guide to spring selection below. An additional heavy (orange) spring may be necessary if installed on an extension (spring effectiveness will vary with application).
